About The Event

The Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Jan. 18, 2021, is the 26th anniversary of the day of service that celebrates the Civil Rights leader’s life and legacy. Observed each year on the third Monday in January as “a day on, not a day off,” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.  High Voltage MLK Day of Service will provide Hurricane Laura|Delta children and families with  art kits and coloring books as well as the opportunity to participate in a virtual tour of Studio Be. This project is made possible through the generous support of Google, Inc. employees.  Additionally,  students will receive activity kits from the Odgen Museum of Southern Art and the opportunity to participate in virtual events.
